DigitalOcean Network

What is DigitalOcean? DigitalOcean (DO) is a virtual commons that connects people and provides them with resources to advance ocean sustainability and protect Earth’s ocean ecosystems.

How Does DO Work? By creating a central source for “everything ocean” and linking people to tools and resources, DO supports volunteer exchanges and accelerates ocean science knowledge sharing in the global community. As DO grows, communities acquire the opportunities and capabilities of DO’s services in exchange for adding content and other value (e.g., content reviews) to the system.

Who Uses DO? Existing and new communities of scientists, educators, students, policy makers, media specialists, ocean enthusiasts, people who make their living from the sea, and Google Ocean user groups can all use DO. DO audiences are producer-audiences (just as all users are also provider-users), and all are able and expected to add content and value to the DO system.
